Professional Development Training Centers
Eshel has established two training centers to date - in Israel's center (Tel Hashomer) and north (Kiryat Bialik).
A third center will be open in the south of Israel (Beersheba) in September 2018.
Training subject matter includes amongst others: family caregivers, aging with a disability, neurological rehabilitation, dementia, palliative care and end of life, older adult abuse prevention, and old age institution management.
These training courses take the form of short-term workshops or seminars which are accredited by Israel's Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education.
Participants include professionals (social workers, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors), para-professionals (caregivers, old age home staff, supportive community staff, social coordinators) and managers (home care, day care, NGO for Older Adults, community based services).
Over the 2016/2017 academic year, 1,513 individuals participated in over 60 unique courses in Tel Hashomer and 1,110 participants in over 20 courses in Kiryat Bialik.
